Steve Holeman
Head Womens Soccer Coach
Camp Director

Coach Steve Holeman has more than 17 years of camp and coaching experience. In 11 years at Ole Miss, he has guided the team to three SEC Western Division Titles and a top 25 national ranking. This past season; the Rebels advanced to the NCAA for the third time in the last four years. In 2003, the Rebels advanced to the second round. Coach Holeman holds a USSF license, and also serves on the Region III ODP staff.



Derek Greene
Associate Head Women’s Soccer Coach

Coach Derek Greene has 12 years of coaching and camp experience. Greene just completed his fourth year with the Rebels, and has been an integral part of the three NCAA tournament appearances and the national ranking the program has received. Prior to coming to Ole Miss, Greene served as head women's coach for four years at NCAA Division II Carson-Newman College and has served as a member of the Tennessee, Mississippi and Alabama ODP staffs. Greene has also worked as a member of the Region III ODP staff during the summer.



Melinda Smith
Assistant Womens Soccer Coach

After two years away from Oxford, former Rebel standout goalkeeper Melinda Smith returned home to Ole Miss last May to become an assistant coach. Smith serves as the team's keepers coach, she played four years for Ole Miss, 1998-2001, including three seasons as the starter in goal. Smith spent the 2004 campaign as an assistant coach at Columbus State (Ga.), where she worked under CSU head coach and former Carolina Courage Coach Jay Entlich. This past season, Smith helped the Rebels back to the NCAA Tournament and helped goalkeeper Ann Shelton finish number one in the country in goals against average. Smith also currently serves as a member of the Mississippi ODP staff.


Louis Richard
Director of Goalkeeping

Coach Louis Richard is back to direct goalkeeping at the 2006 Ole Miss Soccer Camp. Richard spent two years as an assistant with the Lady Rebels before accepting the position of director of soccer for Parks and Recreation in Auburn, AL. Prior to Ole Miss, Richard spent six seasons coaching goalkeeping at Auburn University. Coach Richard holds a USSF license and the NSCAA Premiere Diploma.
